๐จ I Was Scammed: Immediate Steps to Take
Paybis strongly condemns cybercrime and we work tirelessly to fight it. While we actively block transactions to known scam wallets, we cannot stop every instance of fraud.
The Hard Truth: Because cryptocurrency transactions are irreversible and the recipient's wallet is not under our control, Paybis is unable to return the money or reverse the transaction. If your contact person has stopped responding to you, it is highly likely you have been scammed.
However, there are critical steps you can take right now to protect yourself from further loss.
๐ป Did you share personal data or grant remote access?
(e.g., via AnyDesk, TeamViewer, or screen-sharing software)
If you allowed a third party to access your device, your personal data and banking details are at severe risk. Take these actions immediately:
Contact Your Bank: Call your bank immediately. Request to block your card and freeze your accounts, as the scammer may have access to your banking app.
Secure Your Device: Install licensed antivirus software and scan your computer for malware. The scammer may have installed background programs to steal data.
Change Credentials: Once your device is clean, change your passwords for email, banking, and crypto accounts. Enable 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) on all accounts for an extra layer of safety.
File a Police Report: Report the incident to your local police station, noting that your identity documents and computer security may have been compromised.
๐ฎ Where to Report Cybercrime
We strongly recommend filing a formal report with your local police and the relevant cybercrime authority in your region.
